"France Photography Workshop 2018: The Loire Valley & Paris Through A Photographer's Eyes"
Featuring Celebrated French Photographer Eric Sander
October 12 - 20, 2018
"The France Photography Workshop" Trip Overview
This spectacular trip to France features a week-long exclusive photography workshop with celebrated international photographer Eric Sander. He will lead our group on an insider one-of-a-kind experience capturing the greatest French landscapes, gardens, nature, architecture, people and other features of the Loire Valley and a day in Paris - all while you continue to develop your own photography aesthetic and skills. We'll start our journey in Paris with your arrival at the Paris CDG airport, and then we'll head by private transport to the charming town of Amboise on the Loire River. Our comprehensive week will include photo sessions of various themes and locales, instruction on the techniques and art of photography, 1x1 coaching sessions, group discussions, and much more. In addition, we'll be treated to special cultural and historical visits of well-known châteaux and gardens such as Villandry - notably the most magnificent and inventive garden in all of France - and lesser known private estates and venues. Throughout our travels, we will have Eric to open our eyes to the myriad of visual and creative possibilities in front of us. Our stays in the Loire Valley and on our last evening in Paris will be made all the more special by our lovely accommodations in deluxe French hotels and gourmet French meals with wine. The photography workshop week is a once-in-a-lifetime way to really "see" France!

About the Photographer
For more than 30 years, Eric Sander’s photographs have been regularly published in some of the best magazines worldwide and in more than 20 books. Eric Sander grew up in France and started working as a Photo Editor at Gamma Photo Agency in Paris in 1977. He became a freelance photo reporter in 1983, and moved to Los Angeles in 1985. There, he explored California’s golden years by depicting American’s love for the unusual, through eccentric portraits and amazing ways of life. U.S. magazines such as Smithsonian, Life, Time, Newsweek, BusinessWeek often called on Eric Sander’s talent. Soon after, he also became a regular correspondent for French magazines (VSD, L’Express, Le Figaro Magazine, Grands Reportages, Point de Vue…). In 2001, Eric Sander settled back in Paris to rediscover France’s architecture and landscape heritage and the incredible effects of the light there. While covering his first story of the just-then-restored gardens of Marqueyssac in Perigord in southwest France, a new passion was born: capturing gardens and landscapes via photography. Eric has had nine books on gardens alone published since 2010. Consequently, he also developed a major interest in luxurious estates and in interiors. Today, Eric mainly works on assignment for private estate owners (extraordinary homes, vineyards and great gardens), magazines (Figaro magazine, Smithsonian..), publishers (Flammarion, Acte Sud, Xavier Barral Editions, Ulmer, Gourcuff Gradenigo, Rustica), landscape designers (Louis Benech), interior designers (Jacques Garcia), and major events (Garden and Contemporary Art Festival in Chaumont-Sur-Loire). www.ericsander.com
